Never go live without testing. A 15-minute test session before launch will reveal the gaps in your knowledge base, help you fix weak answers, and give you confidence that your agent is ready for real visitors.
Opening test mode
From your agent settings in the ChatForge dashboard, click "Test Agent". This opens a live chat interface connected directly to your agent — you can ask it anything exactly as a visitor would, without it going public.
The 20-question test protocol
Run through these categories of questions before going live. Write down which answers are good (✅), weak (⚠️), or wrong (❌):
Core business questions
- What do you do / what services do you offer?
- How much does it cost?
- Where are you based / what areas do you cover?
- What are your opening hours?
- How do I contact you?
Process and booking questions
- How do I get started?
- How long does it take?
- Can I book a call / consultation?
- What happens after I sign up?
Trust and objection questions
- Do you offer refunds or a money-back guarantee?
- Can I see examples of your work?
- How is payment handled?
- Are you [relevant certification/accreditation]?
Edge case questions
- Ask something completely off-topic (e.g. "What's the weather today?")
- Ask something vague (e.g. "Tell me about pricing")
- Ask the same question in a different way from before
Scoring your agent
After your test, grade each answer category:
| Rating | What it means | Action |
|---|---|---|
| ✅ Great | Accurate, complete, helpful | No action needed |
| ⚠️ Weak | Partially correct or vague | Add more detail to knowledge base |
| ❌ Wrong | Incorrect or missing entirely | Add correct info immediately |
Fix before you launch
For every ❌ wrong answer, go to your knowledge base and add the correct information — as a manual Q&A pair for maximum precision. For ⚠️ weak answers, find the relevant section in your knowledge base and add more detail or clearer language.
Once you've made changes, re-test those specific questions. Aim for 80%+ strong answers before going live.
